Welcome to the home page of Gavin LaRose. I am now working with instructional technology in the mathematics department of the University of Michigan. For a graphic version of this page, follow this link.

I came to Michigan by way of the math/cs department at Nebraska Wesleyan University, in Lincoln, where at least one other university may be found. I did my PhD dissertation at Northwestern University in applied math, and my undergraduate work at Grinnell College, which is in Iowa.

This page is getting a bit out of date, but hopefully I'll have a new version up sooner than later.

The Rest of Life: Is there something besides work? I also like writing and books: somewhat recent entries in the "read" list include *The Minnesota Stories of Sinclair Lewis (S. Lewis), The Box of Delights (J. Masefield), and *East of Eden (J. Steinbeck). (*) texts come highly recommended by me, for what that's worth.

I also love music, and think Ultimate frisbee(in Ann Arbor!) is pretty cool.
