_1. SAM Annual Picnic & BBQ_
The picnic and barbecue will be held on April 20, 2008 (Sunday)
from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m at Allmendinger Park. To know the exact location
of the park, please click here[1]. For more information about the
park, please click here[2].
If it rains on the day, the activity is canceled. Otherwise, please
come out and join us for this fun activity! Bring anything (frisbee,
etc.) to play with others. Take a break from your studying. Some (if not all) our
added: RSVP to Kai at kkchooi@umich.edu by next Fri 11.59pm(04/18/08). We do need some
time to buy food and prepare for the picnic. To make this a sweeter deal, we will even
provide rides there from the Math Dept.
Food includes: Real burgers, veggie burgers, brats/hot dogs, fruits, drinks, chips and
more.
Free food + free ride + lotsa fun.
Feel free to make some brownies/cookies for the picnic too.
_2. Let's Welcome the New SAM Board for the Year 2008-2009_
The SAM Board of 2007-2008 would like to thank all voters who
elected their respective candidates to the new SAM Board of 2008-2009.
We also thank all candidates for doing their best in vying for their
preferred positions.
We congratulate the new board for being elected and hope that the
new board continues to serve the members well, as promised.

2) Risk Management Presentation - Special Event
Global Association of Risk Professionals (www.garp.org) will be holding an interesting
presentation about the role of a risk manager and other important information about
financial risk management. Financial Math majors and Actuarial math majors seeking
non-traditional career path should really check this out.
