Plenary Talks
Abstract Detail

The Ending Laminations Theorem Direct from Teichmuller Geodesics.
I shall sketch some of the ideas used to prove the general (tame) case of the Ending Laminations Theorem, with a geometric model constructed directly from Teichmuller geodesics, and using a theory of Teichmuller geodesics which effectively allows one to use arguments applicable in the case of bounded geometry. The bounded geometry Kleinian surface case will be presented first. Indications will be given on how to extend the arguments to unbounded geometry, and to compressible ends.
