Abstract Detail

Conformal Analysis on Fractals
Many questions in analysis and geometry lead to the study of quasisymmetric maps on self-similar fractals. For example, there is a close relation of this subject with the problem of characterizing fundamental groups of hyperbolic orbifolds or with Thurston's characterization of rational functions with finite post-critical set. Fractal 2-spheres or Sierpinski carpets are typical spaces for which the understanding of their quasisymmetric self-maps is highly relevant and turns out to be particularly interesting. In my talk I will report on some recent developments in this area.
