A combinatorial model for the Teichmuller metric
In this talk we review some results relating the combinatorial properties of curves on surfaces to geometric properties of Teichmuller space. Some of these results will be used to show that a line of minima is a Teichmuller quasi-geodesic. (See "Lines of minima in Teichmuller space" presented by Young Choi.)

Topic: Deformation theory of hyperbolic 3-manifolds
