Special Event If you have some extra time after the conference in May and are looking for an adventure, you should consider participating in a special event: The local orienteering club will organize an orienteering competition to honor Juha on Saturday, May 17, right after the conference. He was Michigan orienteering champion several times and won the US championship once in 2000. At the start of an orienteering event you get a map of the area with several marked points. You have to reach all the points and return in the shortest time possible. Orienteering combines cleverness with athletic skills and is a lot of fun! The event will take place in Peach Mountain-Stinchfield Woods about 10-15 miles northeast from Ann Arbor. For those that are interested, further information will be provided during the conference. We will also organize transportation.
