Mathematics 105
Help!

So you're working your hardest and reading the book. You're doing the assignments and studying every night. But it's just not enough! Where can one find some extra help?

Don't overlook the obvious

Suggestion 1: Read the book. Really really read it. Sit down and read it. Carefully. Again. and again. It's truly an excellent book.

Suggestion 2: Do lots of individual homework. Do every problem assigned by your instructor on time, and then do a few more for good measure.

Suggestion 3: Recopy your notes.

Suggestion 4: Start group homework early.

Seek help and find help

Resource: Talk to your professor. We do everything we can, but we're not perfect. If you tell your professor what's going wrong, (s)he may be able to improve things.

Resource: Try the Math Lab. Tutors there can help you with specific problems.

Resource: Like using the web? Type "exponential functions" into any search engine, and you'll get thousands of hits. One can now obtain quite a lot of math help online. Caveat Emptor!

Best wishes!
