Practice Problems / Winter 2013

Practice problems are, except where noted, drawn from Edition 4 of the textbook. These are provided because the written (and web) homework sets are a small fraction of the work that you should do to learn the material in the course and be prepared for the exams. To ensure your preparation you should work some or all of the problems indicated below as well.

To assist in your studying, these are broken into Routine Problems, which you should regard as problems which you are expected to be able to do with no errors; and More Conceptual Problems, which are just that. Working the latter should result in you obtaining the more comprehensive understanding of the material needed to do well in the other parts of the course.
