Classes meet for lecture in Dennison 296 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On Tuesdays or Thursdays, you will meet either in a classroom for recitation, or in a computer lab in the basement of East Hall. The lab and recitation locations are provided on the section information page. (You can also get the locations from Wolverine Access—the lab room is provided in a footnote.) The day-by-day syllabus indicates whether you should go to the recitation room or lab room in a given week. Information about grading and assignments is available on the syllabus.
| Course Description |
Math 216 is a 4 credit course on differential equations with supplementary topics in complex numbers and matrix algebra. It is intended for engineers and other scientists who apply these techniques in their work. Most of the material will be presented in a manner consistent with the presentations in the text. Students are expected to read and study the examples and related material in the text and to write up and submit the assigned problems sets and lab projects. (The lab projects involve programming in Matlab and Maple.) Similar problems will be used as examples during the lectures as preparation for the exams. Some of the homework is provided online and offers instant feedback. |
