LOCAL GROUP MODEL: On Wednesday, July 8 at noon, we will be setting up a scale model of the Local Group of galaxies on the Diag. This will be as accurate as practicalities allow, and show the population of galaxies in the nearby Universe -- a cube of space 6 million light years on a side reduced to something about 10 meters on a side.

We will defer this until the Thursday or Friday if the weather looks threatening; we don't want soggy galaxies.
