Employment Opportunities - Counselors needed Summer Counselors Wanted!!! The Michigan Math and Science Scholars (MMSS) summer program is a program for high school students who are open to the challenges of higher mathematics and natural sciences. The MMSS program is hiring a number of students that will serve as Residence Hall Advisors for the residential portion of the program. There are two sessions offered: Session I: June 27, 2010 - July 9, 2010 Residence Hall Counselors supervise the Michigan Math and Science Scholars participants during the non-academic hours of the program. This is a residential position based in a university residence hall. You will organize and execute group social activities in the evening hours and on the weekends. You will participate in the field trips and chaperone students on group outings (MMSS will pay for your admission fees while doing so!). Most importantly, you will provide guidance to students, serving as a positive role model for the high school participants - after all, they will be in your shoes in a few years. The salary range of $450 - $500 per week is provided based on previous experience. The position requires weekend and evening participation. You will be expected to work from 4:30 pm until 8:30 am the following day, every weekday you work, and work all 24 hours of each weekend day. Sleeping is part of your “work schedule”. Food and lodging are provided. You will have rotating days off. You must be at least 18 years old by June 26, 2010. Ideal applicants will have relevant experience and must be able to serve as positive role models for student participants.
