Session and Course Selections

Two 2 week sessions are offered and students may elect to attend one or both sessions. A single course is elected for each session and class runs from 9:00am to 4:30pm with an hour break for lunch. Sessions run Monday through Friday for two weeks.

Session I: June 29 - July 11, 2008 (There is class on the 4th of July)
Session II: July 13 - July 25, 2008

Commuter Students (1 Session) - $1,000.00
Residential Students (1 Session) - $1,700.00

Letter of Recommendation:

Please ask one of your most recent high school science or math teachers to submit a
Letter of Recommendation. This is a required part of your application.

Application Processing Fee

There is a $100 application fee that must be received by the MMSS program before
your application will be considered for admission. This application fee will be returned to you if you are not admitted.  The balance of the program tuition and fees will be due by May 30, 2008.
The application fee will not be returned in the event that you refuse our offer of admission.

Students accepted into the MMSS 2008 summer program will be notified by e-mail and
by regular mail. Included in the notification e-mail will be additional instructions including:

  • Course assigments
  • Instructions on how to pay the remainder of your balance due
  • Things to bring to the MMSS program and other useful information
  • An information packet and contract to be reviewed and signed
    by the students parents. This must be returned by May 30, 2008

Financial Support

Check here if you are applying for need-based financial support. Please include a brief explanation for applying for financial support below. For anything more than a couple of sentences in length, please e-mail us your justification at mmss@umich.edu.

To be considered for support, it will be necessary to provide the MMSS program
with a copy of your parents or guardians 2007 tax return. Your application for financial
aid will not be considered until the MMSS program receives this document. Include
any additional documentation describing extenuating circumstances. Please send
a copy of this document to the following address:
