MMSS 2005
Lunch and Learns
Lunch and Learns are short lunchtime presentations given by University faculty who are often not connected with the MMSS program. Presenters have come from the College of Literature, Science and the Arts, the Medical School and the College of Engineering.
Dr. John Younger, Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine, gave a talk titled, "A Germs Eye View of
Pneumonia" on June 30th to a sold out crowd.
Here are some photos from his talk and we hope to have his presentation posted soon.
On July 5th, 2005, students were treated to pizza and invited to attend a talk sponsored by the Office of Admissions. It was a well attended talk with plenty of good information about applying to the University of Michigan and generated many questions from students (photos).
On July 12th, 2005, Chemistry Professor Mark Banaszak Holl gave a talk on the Scientific Method, using his own research in Materials Chemistry as an example (photos).
The programs last lunch and learn will be presented by Astronomy Professor Douglas Richstone on July 21, 2005 in 1324 East Hall. The title of the presentation is "Black Holes". Some images from the presentation. The Powerpoint presentation is featured here.
