DESCRIPTION: MMSS students then estimated the number of leaves on the two trees. They also calculated the area of individual leaves. From the transpiration rate (figured as ml/hr, but adjusted by number of leaves in the apparatus), MMSS students calculated the maple tree in the picture evaporates 35.5 l/hr on a day as today – or 426 l/12 hours.
