Day #7 - Pete brought in his guitars and the class started off with Pat playing Beautiful Girl with one of Pete's guitar, which ended with a round of applause. It is a day of mostly lectures. We started off with ways to improve the Huffman tree for English language. Then Pete started talking about tidal waves to bring the students into the notion of Fourier series. There was a discussion about musical notes and harmonics and those got the young musicians of the class interested. Following that, there was an exercise to demonstrate the idea behind jpg files.
