Gamma oscillations and attention

Christoph Borgers

Tufts University

Abstract

Gamma frequency (approximately 40 Hz) oscillations in electrical fields in the brain are known to be correlated with various forms of attention. I will talk about mechanisms underlying gamma oscillations, and about ways in which these oscillations may play a functional role in vigilance and stimulus selection. This is a report on an ongoing project in collaboration with Nancy Kopell and Steven Epstein.
