Title: Algebraic Families and Lagrangian Cycles
Abstract: In this talk we shall explain how methods and techniques of symplectic geometry and topology can be used to study various questions in algebraic geometry. These concern singularities of algebraic varieties, deformations and problems of projective embeddings.
This is the introductory talk of a series of five lectures, which concern connections between algebraic geometry and symplectic geometry. No preliminary knowledge of symplectic geometry will be assumed.
