Title: The arithmetic of special values of L-functions
Abstract: L-functions are certain complex analytic functions that are generalizations of the Riemann zeta function. Conjecturally, their behavior at integer points encodes deep arithmetic information. I will give an introduction to the arithmetic of special values of L-functions (and of p-adic L-functions, their p-adic analogs) through some simple examples.
