Title: What do we do here?
Abstract: The February 2012 PCAST report "Engage to Excel: Producing One Million Additional College Graduates with Degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics" singled out mathematics as a 'bottleneck' to creating more such graduates. Because Michigan has one of the more successful undergraduate mathematics programs (as measured by, for example, DFW rates and the Calculus Concept Inventory), I am invited to give talks around the country about our what we do here. Come find out what I say.
