Title: Positive curvature: Past and Present
Abstract: The standard sphere is the simplest and most perfect example of a space with positive curvature: It is the most symmetric one and it has constant curvature. We will describe developments in positive curvature based on such extreme properties, and see how this has led to what is known today. The talk will focus on manifolds with large amount of symmetry and the search for new examples.
