Title: Khovanov homology from surface singularities
Abstract: Khovanov homology is an invariant of knots and links coming from
algebra (Khovanov), symplectic geometry (Seidel-Smith) or algebraic
geometry (Cautis-Kamnitzer). I will try to describe all this, and briefly
touch on another construction coming from algebraic geometry that is
simpler than that of Cautis-Kamnitzer, being essentially two dimensional.
