Title: Patching in algebra
Abstract: Patching is a method that was motivated by ideas in geometry and analysis, but which can be used to solve purely algebraic problems. This talk will describe an algebraic form of patching, and how it can be applied to problems concerning Galois theory, quadratic forms, and division algebras.
