Title: Lie theory for noncrystallographic dihedral groups
Abstract: It was known for about 100 years that the only finite Coxeter groups
which appear as Weyl groups of simple Lie groups are
"crystallographic" and have
type A, B, D, G2, F4 and E6, E7, E8. Thus, almost all finite dihedral
groups are missing from this list.
I will talk about our project with Arkady Berenstein, on developing
"Lie theory'' for noncrystallographic finite Coxeter
groups, including "Schubert pre-calculus," stability inequalities and
tensor product decomposition.
