Title: Polyfolds and a Generalized Fredholm Theory
Abstract: We describe a very general (nonlinear) Fredholm theory for a new class of ambient spaces, called polyfolds. This theory is applicable to Gromov-Witten, Floer Theory as well as Symplectic Field Theory and also to a wider range of elliptic problems with analytical limiting behavior. All these problems are distinguished by the fact that a large family (possibly infinite) of moduli spaces with boundaries are related to each other. Transversality and compactness issues make it difficult to give an efficient treatment of these problems by more classical approaches.
