Generalized associahedra introduced in a joint work with S. Fomin
(hep-th/0111053) are certain smooth complete simplicial fans associated
with arbitrary finite root systems. They include as special cases the
Stasheff associahedron and the Bott-Taubes cyclohedron. We discuss a joint
work with R. Marsh and M. Reineke which provides a natural interpretation
of generalized associahedra in terms of quiver representations. With this
interpretation, some of the key properties of these fans become easy
consequences of the known facts about tilting quiver representations.
