Alternating sign matrices, lattice models, and more!
In this talk, we will survey connections between some combinatorial
objects (alternating sign matrices, plane partitions, families of
non-intersecting lattice paths) and some lattice models coming from
statistical physics (six vertex model, ice model, fully packed loop
model), "proving" several elegant bijections with colorful pictures.
The audience is not expected to know what any of these objects are
ahead of time.
