Rational singularities and F-rational type

Many singularities of complex algebraic varieties have "Frobenius characterization". For example, a variety X is smooth over a perfect field of char p>0 iff the Frobenius map F:X->X induces a vector bundle structure on X. In this talk, we will discuss the equivalence of rational singularities with F-rational type, via tight closure theory.
