Colloquium Series Date:  Tuesday, January 29, 2013 Location:  1360 East Hall (4:10 PM to 5:00 PM) Title:  Isomorphism conjectures in K-theory Abstract:   I will give a gentle introduction to the Baum-Connes and Farrell-Jones isomorphism conjectures in K-theory. I will assume minimal background, and will start with the definitions of the relevant K-theories. The talk should be accessible to graduate students.
