Colloquium Series Date:  Tuesday, March 26, 2013 Location:  1360 East Hall (4:10 PM to 5:00 PM) Title:  Geometry of Period Domains Abstract:   Period domains are homogeneous complex manifolds that appeared in the study of period of integrals and monodromy groups of families of algebraic varieties. They appear now in many different contexts. I will explain some of this history, including how they can be used to study representations of fundamental groups of algebraic varieties, I will also explain recent joint work with P.
