Complex Analysis, Dynamics and Geometry

Date:  Monday, September 23, 2013
Location:  3096 East Hall (4:00 PM to 5:00 PM)

Title:  Salem Numbers and Complex Torus Automorphisms

Abstract:   We will discuss some general results about the characterization of possible entropies for complex surface automorphisms. We will use these results to give a detailed characterization of the entropies that occur on two-dimensional complex tori. We will also describe the different types of tori that admit positive-entropy automorphisms.
