Title: Complex dynamics with focus on the real part.
Abstract: This is joint work with Han Peters. We investigate complex dynamics in one variable x+iy. Our problem is to see what one can prove rigorously about the dynamics if one only can see the x-values. In general, scientists ignore some variables in their work. The question then is if their results are still rigorously valid. The work with Han Peters can be considered a test-case. We prove the existence of a unique measure of maximal entropy, which is a classical result in complex dynamics.
