Title: q,t Catalan numbers and Hall-Littlewood polynomials
Abstract: I'll explain some of the remarkable combinatorics of the q,t Catalan numbers due to Jim Haglund and others, and some open conjectures relating them to spaces of sections of bundles in algebraic geometry. I'll then present a new theorem that represents these sections in terms of multiplication constants in the Hall-Littlewood polynomials. Conjecturally, these coefficients are polynomials with positive integers, which would imply that this formula is genuinely counting these weights. This should be a very down to earth talk.
