Title: Mathematical Modeling of Cholera Epidemics
Abstract: Cholera is a severe waterborne disease caused by the bacterium Vibrio cholerae. In this talk, I will present some recent investigations of cholera epidemics through mathematical modeling and analysis. The talk consists of two parts. In the first part, I will give a introduction to infectious disease modeling. In the second part, we will discuss disease threshold dynamics and cholera traveling waves by using ODE and PDE models.
