Title: Expander graphs II: Geometric expanders
Abstract: Last time we defined expanders and saw an explicit construction by Margulis using groups with Kazhdan's Property (T). This time we will explain a recent geometric construction of expanders by Vigolo, generalizing a different construction of Margulis, and discuss connections with spectral properties, Selberg's 3/16 theorem, and the classical Banach-Ruciewicz problem.
