Title:  Unipotent flows on homogeneous spaces

Abstract:   I'll discuss Ratner's theorems on unipotent flows on homogeneous spaces: these say that the closures of the orbits of a unipotent flow on a homogeneous space are 'geometric', that orbits equidistribute in their closures, and that the only ergodic probability measures arise from Haar measures on these orbit closures.
