Location:  3096 East Hall (5:15 PM to 6:30 PM)

Title:  Inclusive Teaching in Mathematics: An Asset Oriented Approach

Abstract:   We will explore a few key shifts in instructional strategies which can significantly impact students' opportunities to participate actively in learning and doing mathematics. I will share how I am thinking about this challenge conceptually, what I mean by "teaching for equitable access," how I have used these strategies in high school and college classes, and finally the varied ways that students have responded to these teaching approaches. I will provide significant time to answer your questions and to engage in conversation about particular challenges you may face.
