Student Representation Theory

Date:  Tuesday, February 20, 2018
Location:  1866 East Hall (3:00 PM to 4:00 PM)

Title:  Representations of finite sets and injections

Abstract:   The category FI (of finite sets and injections) has a beautiful and simple representation theory, which is closely related to the notion of a stable sequence of S_n representations. I will talk about how we can understand representations of FI by studying a Morita-equivalent category, which is "built from the Pieri rule."
