Title: Recruitment Symposium: A Simplest High-order Numerical Method
Abstract: A central task of numerical analysis is to develop efficient numerical methods for scientific and engineering problems. In Calculus class, we learned about the trapezoidal rule for numerical integrations, which is only second-order accurate. In this talk, we will show that the trapezoidal rule is, in fact, an "infinite-order" method when applied to a certain class of integrands.
