Title:  The shape of a random affine Weyl group element, and random core partitions

Abstract:   I will discuss the "shape" of a random element of an affine Weyl group, where an element is randomly generated by (reduced) multiplication by simple generators. This is equivalent to looking at a random walk in the affine Coxeter arrangement that is conditioned to never cross a hyperplane twice. I will also connect this problem to the shape of random core partitions.
