Program Guidelines:

The REU program is designed to provide outstanding undergraduates with the opportunity to pursue research under the tutelage of experienced faculty members.  It is not intended to function as a "work-study" program, or to support students in learning the fundamental elements of math.  Research topics should utilize knowledge gained in the classroom and apply it to specific projects beyond the realm of what would normally be covered in a regular Math course.

Students are required to submit a written report of their project.  The report should be structured as a scientific research paper, carefully thought out and well-written.  Reports should be of suitable quality for submission to a professional Mathematics journal. Reports must be approved by your faculty supervisor.
