Scholarships and Awards
As of Fall 2006, the Department of Mathematics is supplying scholarships to 39 students in the amount of $104,200. 10 of these students are first year students who have committed to Mathematics but not yet officially declared. We currently have 276 declared majors, so we are giving scholarships to approximately 14% of our majors.
M.S. Keeler Department of Mathematics Merit Scholarships
Award Amount: $1,000-$5,000 per year for up to 4 years.
Number Awarded: The number of Keeler Merit Scholarships awarded varies depending on the number of qualified students.
Award Criteria: Prospective students presenting outstanding mathematical talent as evidenced by coursework and competitions and/or Current Undergraduates presenting outstanding mathematical talent as evidenced by coursework and competitions; must major in Mathematics.
Deadline: The first weekday every May. Scholarships are awarded for the following academic year.

Margaret S. Huntington Award
in Actuarial Outreach
Award Amount: $1,000
Number Awarded: Up to 10, depending on the qualifications and accomplishments of the applicant pool.
Award Criteria: First and second year students, at most second term in residence, with a grade of A- or better in the following courses in the Fall of 2007: 115,116, 156,175, 185, 215, 285, 295. Must complete an essay with the application form
Deadline: Friday, January 25, 2008.
