Every summer, Project NExT runs a workshop for new Ph.D.s in the mathematical sciences. The workshop precedes the MAA's Mathfest, and includes breakout sessions, panel discussions, keynote presentations and more in-depth courses. The workshop is attended by the new Project NExT Fellows, who are active and enthusiastic as they enter the profession, and the workshop sessions are run by effective, experienced mathematicians who are able to provide insight on different aspects of the career that the new Fellows are entering. Long breaks and mealtimes provide opportunities for Fellows and presenters to continue conversations informally and to network. Here is a sample program from a previous workshop.
If you know of a presenter you think would be appropriate for the workshop, we encourage you to nominate them using the form below, noting that
Thank you for taking the time to contribute to the success of Project NExT
by suggesting a presenter. While we will be unable to use all of those
nominated, we expect that this resource will enhance the workshops and
improve our ability to involve the greater mathematical community in
Project NExT's work. If you have questions about this form, please
contact Gavin LaRose (<glarose(at)umich(dot)edu>); for
questions about Project NExT or the workshop, please contact Gavin LaRose
or Aparna Higgins
(<aparna(dot)higgins(at)notes(dot)udayton(dot)edu>).
